What Is Adaptive Martial Arts?
Our Adaptive Martial Arts program takes a modern approach to traditional karate and martial arts training. Every class is tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on:
- Coordination and balance
- Strength and range of motion (ROM)
- Focus and body awareness
- Confidence and self-esteem
- Social skills and teamwork
Torin classes are structured with modifications and individualized support, allowing every student to succeed while still learning the core values of martial arts — discipline, respect, and perseverance.
Sensei Amanda Torin
Katas & Forms Instructor
Growing up in a martial arts family, Sensei Amanda Torin trained under her father and became proficient in both modern and traditional styles. She holds certifications in Adaptive Personal Training and Speech Therapy and is a Clinical Autism and Inclusion Specialist.
Her expertise makes her uniquely qualified to lead the academy's Adaptive and Inclusive Martial Arts programs — helping students with disabilities thrive while building confidence, coordination, and focus. That same heart for inclusion is what makes the Wings × Torin partnership so natural.
